-AUTOMOTIVE Components for the Automotive sector
- Military AEROSPACE titanium, carbon, special alloys, destruction of armaments, bulletproof steels, alumina, etc.
Waterjet cutting is widely used for several applications in the aerospace industry, as the method offers a distinct advantage for metal cutting: the material is not heated in the process and therefore retains its original properties.
Waterjet cutting is a cold cutting method, it does not cause stress in the metal or changes to the structure of the material. Water jet cutting is, therefore, the preferred method for the production of titanium fuselages, aluminium or titanium engine parts, aluminium fuselage parts and panels.
The following table shows a comparison between laser, plasma and waterjet cutting, the material and the respective processing characteristics.
Each method has advantages and disadvantages, depending on the material to be cut
-CARPENTRY COLD CUTTING The water jet, cuts with precision and without thermal alteration, all ferrous and unused materials in the mechanical construction field.
Iron, steel, aluminium, copper, duplex, super duplex, titanium, Inconel, etc.
-MARMO_CERAMICA Water cutting lends itself to numerous uses in the marble and related sector
-FOODWaterjet for cutting food bread, pizza, vegetables, fish, cakes, etc.
The waterjet cutting method has been used in the food production sector for many years. The most common applications include cutting pizzas, sweets, meat, fish, chocolate bars, chips and frozen foods. Food processors opt for waterjet cutting mainly for hygiene reasons. During the cutting process, food is only in contact with pure water. There is no risk of contamination, as can occur with knives. Food is not heated during cutting and is not exposed to chemicals.
ADVANTAGES FOR FOOD WITH WATER-JET CUTTING
Hygienic cutting method for food
Minimize the risk of salmonella contamination
No heat generation, no chemical additives
There is no need to clean or refine the cutting tool
Low rejection rate
Small gap cutting width of approx. 0.1mm
CUTTING SPEED FOR FOOD CUTTING
The cutting speeds used in the food industry vary widely. In all cases, the speed can only be determined by a series of tests.
BOSS Technology Waterjet Systems offers a range of high-pressure pumps that meet all applications. They cover everything from maximum water jet cutting pressures up to 6200 bar to maximum volumetric flows greater than 15 l / min and the simultaneous management of a large number of cutting heads.
