Waterjet cutting is widely used for several applications in the aerospace industry, as the method offers a distinct advantage for metal cutting: the material is not heated in the process and therefore retains its original properties.
Waterjet cutting is a cold cutting method, it does not cause stress in the metal or changes to the structure of the material. Water jet cutting is, therefore, the preferred method for the production of titanium fuselages, aluminium or titanium engine parts, aluminium fuselage parts and panels.

The waterjet cutting method has been used in the food production sector for many years. The most common applications include cutting pizzas, sweets, meat, fish, chocolate bars, chips and frozen foods. Food processors opt for waterjet cutting mainly for hygiene reasons. During the cutting process, food is only in contact with pure water. There is no risk of contamination, as can occur with knives. Food is not heated during cutting and is not exposed to chemicals.
